Personal Hell Contest Results!

First, a note from your founder RoyalBlackheart:

To everyone that participated in this contest, you did a fantastic job! I was in some serious awe and it took a bit of discussion between mothlets and myself to make the final ruling on where to place individuals according to our standards for the literature submissions received. I highly suggest everyone to hop on over to the Personal Hell Contest folder and read every submission that was sent in. It was really a hard pick, and there were many great contestants this time around.

And now, without further ado, I present to you your winners!

The incredible piece by wheezergirl was hard to match. When reading Freezer, it felt like being transported into the speakers situation. The detail and simplicity was hard to match; and as directly stated from mothlets, "The piece was strong and the closing was even more powerful and tied everything up very well." I couldn't agree more with the exceptional way that this individual handled the contest prompt, and that is why we're awarding wheezergirl first place!

Then, their mothers will draw them into their gentle, tender embrace and their lovers will drip words of golden honey into their ears.... and all would be well. Different, but well.
I lived in that deep void, not left alone for two consecutive moments since the day I was born. There were always people around me-- my parents, my sister, Bea.... the comforting presence of quiet breathing filled my senses. Soft touches and tender pats on my shoulders were common. Naively, I believed the world was perfect, filled with an abundance of warmth and affection. My only regret during that life was not being able to see the gold and silver paved paths that I thought I knew had existed.
When I woke up from my eye surgery, I was

Once reading SinsDeed's piece See, you'll have a brand new appreciation for fears you never thought existed! Every twist and turn that the speaker took was only another roller-coaster of doubt and despair, leading the reader to realize that not all prisons are dreadfully morbid consequences from stupid or rash actions. We happily award second place to SinsDeed!

It’s Saturday evening, October 2nd 2010, and I’ve started to bleed again. I put my feet up, as the nurse instructed the previous time, but this time something is different – I can feel it inside myself, in that inner part of me that knows things. But I go to sleep anyway and pray: “Please God, let the bleeding stop.”
October 3rd, Sunday, I wake up after a fitful night’s sleep to find that the dog has kept me company all night, as if she knows that something is wrong. She tentatively licks my hand and I rub her ears; mutual affection. The bleeding hasn’t stopped, despite my fervent prayers, and I am beginning to doubt that God is listening. By the afternoon it still hasn’t stopped, and we go to the emergency room – they call my gynaecologist and I wait for an hour.
4 p.m.; called to the gynaecologist’s office – he has arrived. My heart is thumping louder than I ever thought it coul

It was a true honor to read MagicalJoey's Living In My Hell. A heartbreaking tail of true tragedy in the worst way, it was hard to stop reading once started. The incredible and profound depth of emotion stole my breath away, personally. An intense and interesting read that will leave you feeling a little lost and empty inside yourself. With a round of applause, we give MagicalJoey third place!
